Hey, I'm jaczkal. Even I don't know how to pronounce it, but this terrible nickname from my childhood PlayStation days stuck with me because it's so weird it's always available everywhere.

About me

My name is Jan Kalivoda and friends call me Kalis. I'm passionate about cybersecurity and any interesting tech in general. My values center around decentralized technologies, privacy, and building a freer world. My mission is to secure the technology that makes these principles possible.

When I'm not deep in code, I enjoy life's simple pleasures like drifting, bonsais, hookahs, heavy weight lifting, and martial arts. Some of my important moments in life are the following:

  • Being at Ackee Blockchain from the beginning where we built up a successful auditing company that contributed to the tooling ecosystem through open-source software such as the Wake framework
  • Helping build wakehacker an autonomous AI agent that scans smart contracts for vulnerabilities
  • Finished my master's degree in informatics with thesis "Advanced analysis of code in Solidity language" where I explored usage of DDG (data-dependency graphs) and LLM (large language models) for vulnerability analysis
  • Finished my bachelor's degree in informatics with thesis "Security Vulnerabilities in the Lightning Network" where I explored pitfalls of the lightning network and demonstrated an exploit on it
  • Co-authored ERC-7512 where we are still seeking a decentralized audit verification solution
  • Accidentally named the Holesovice testnet (RIP)
  • Created a micro beer brewery during the COVID pandemic and became a finalist in a competition for best beer of the month that would be distributed throughout pubs in the Czech Republic by Pilsner Urquell
